Santa in the Park

Get ready for an unforgettable morning at our Santa in the Park event! Santa is making a grand entrance on a fire truck at 10 am, creating a festive atmosphere that promises excitement and holiday joy. Gather your loved ones and be there to witness the magical arrival!
As you wait for your turn to share your Christmas wishes with Santa, be serenaded by Sax to the Max, a talented local high school saxophone group, who will be performing live to add a touch of magic to the atmosphere.
This event will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. No need for pre-registration; just bring your holiday spirit and get ready for spontaneous joy.
And here's a pro tip: be sure to bring a camera! Capture the magic with a photo alongside Santa, preserving the joyous moment for years to come. Plus, while supplies last, indulge in complimentary cookies and hot chocolate to add a sweet touch to the festivities. We hope to see you there!

Join Chestnuthill Parks & Recreation on a bus trip to the 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show with the theme of "United by Flowers", which will illustrate the beauty and power of flowers to transform, inspire, delight, and connect us to one another.
We will depart from Chestnuthill Park at 8:00 AM (please arrive at 7:45 AM). Lunch will be on your own. We will leave Philadelphia at 4:30 PM and return to Chestnuthill Park by 7:00 PM.
The fee to register is $85 per person. Check is the preferred payment method. Please call or email us to register.

Sensory Santa

Individuals with diverse abilities and their families are invited to meet Santa at Chestnuthill Park in a sensory-friendly environment. This Santa meet and greet will avoid bright lights and loud music.
Complimentary cookies, cocoa, and gifts. There will also be photo opportunities with Santa!

Spend the morning learning about the science of magic, movie effects, and toys!
Science of Magic- Learn the science behind illusions, read minds, and perform a Houdini-style escape! Amaze and amuse friends and family with the Curious Cube!
Movie Effects- Discover why science is the real star on the big screen. Create cool sound effects. Toy with 3-D technology. Make motion pictures come alive. Sketch a short feature in the Cartoon Creator flipbook.
Science of Toys- What makes toys work? Move out of the way for motorized toys. Take a spin with kinetic tops. Balance a bird to reveal its center of gravity. A twist of the wrist sets your Yo-yo toy spinning.
This program is designed for kids from kindergarten through 6th grade.
Each participant is responsible for bringing their own snack and drink.
Registration fee: $40.
Minimum Enrollment: 15
