In June of 1991, Chestnuthill Township purchased a 34 acre tract of land adjacent to the municipal building on Route 715 in Brodheadsville. The transaction signaled the beginning of Chestnuthill Township Park. To say that the Chestnuthill Township Park has something for everyone is indeed an understatement. Whatever your interest or fitness level may be, you’re sure to find plenty of ways to enjoy this community facility. Just beyond the parking area, there is likely to be plenty of activity at the basketball courts. Pass the courts and community center to its left, the crack of baseball bats and cheers of the crowds on the all purpose field create a festive atmosphere. And the sounds of children playing in the nearby playground always are a joy to hear.

Happen to be feeling especially active, how about a walk or jog along the paved trail? Suitable for bicycles and skates this paved trail borders the perimeter of the park. If that’s not enough to get your heart pumping, perhaps a game of volleyball! Our volleyball court is fully equipped with net and real sand! Or enjoy a relaxing game of bocce ball on our official court.

Our pavilions are available for rental for birthday parties, family reunions and corporate events. All activities at the park are handicap accessible.

Chestnuthill Township Park has been progressing well over the years, but there is still much that needs to be done. Why not show your support by becoming a volunteer? To volunteer your services or make suggestions, contact the Park Committee Chairman, Chris Thompsett, at (570) 992-7247. Or attend a park committee meeting held at 7pm on the first Wednesday of each month at the Chestnuthill Park Building on Route 715 in Brodheadsville.
