Chestnuthill Township was incorporated in September of 1763. It is a township of the second class; its population as of the 2000 census was 14,418. It has 36.5 square miles and 23,349 acres. There are 150 miles of township roads. |

The township is governed by a Board of Supervisors consisting of three members, all elected for six year terms, one term expiring every two years on December 31.
The present board is: Chuck Gould, Chairman; Leigh Kane, Vice Chairman; and Dave Fleetwood, Supervisor.
The board solicitor is Joseph P. McDonald, Jr. The Board
meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7:00
p.m. at the Municipal Building, Route 715, Brodheadsville.
